In times where values are more than just speeches written on institutional pages, sustainability is one of the main criteria for building a company's image, and more than that, a growing demand from the market, investors, and society. For companies committed to ESG principles, every operational choice counts, and this includes routines that previously went unnoticed but, under closer scrutiny, reveal themselves as sources of wasted funds and natural resources.

Within this set of processes, we can include the traditional umbrella management model in companies. The facilities department regularly buys large quantities of umbrellas that are used only a few times and are soon forgotten, damaged, or discarded. The environmental impact of this practice is significant, as materials such as synthetic fabric, metal, and plastic from these objects are rarely recycled. Furthermore, constant replacement represents an unjustifiable financial and logistical cost, especially when smarter solutions already exist.

How Rentbrella applies the circular economy in practice

Conventional umbrella management within companies follows an outdated pattern: purchase, occasional use, loss or damage, disposal. This cycle repeats continuously and generates an accumulation of waste, in addition to representing recurring expenses for something that should be resolved only once.

Rentbrella's system breaks with this model. Instead of purchasing units for each employee, the company installs stations where umbrellas are available on demand. This drastically reduces the number of units needed in circulation, improves resource utilization, and avoids excess.

Furthermore, Rentbrella umbrellas are produced with fabric made from recycled PET bottles, which reduces the environmental impact right from the manufacturing stage. When an umbrella can no longer be used, it is not simply discarded. It is repurposed to produce a new unit, making the entire production chain more sustainable from start to finish.

Creative reuse and social impact with the "Care Beyond the Rain" project Rentbrella goes even further than operational management. The Care Beyond the Rain project transforms the fabric of disused umbrellas into new products such as bags, cases, eco-friendly backpacks, and maternity kits. These items are donated to institutions that serve people in vulnerable situations, promoting a direct social impact, both ecologically and socially. This completes the circular economy cycle, combining material reuse, environmental responsibility, and a concrete contribution to communities in need of support. This solution, in addition to being efficient internally, generates a positive impact outside the company, expanding its social reach.

Cost reduction, increased efficiency, and a stronger institutional image Adopting Rentbrella's solution means eliminating a bottleneck in the corporate routine, reducing recurring expenses on item replacement, and reducing the volume of waste generated by unnecessary consumption. It's a choice that optimizes operational processes while simultaneously expanding the institution's commitment to sustainability. More than just meeting targets or filling out reports, incorporating sustainable solutions with real-world application strengthens the company's reputation in the market, engages employees, and conveys a clear positioning to investors and partners. It's no coincidence that a large portion of our clients are featured on GPTW lists, precisely because they understand that an ESG policy is something that is built and strengthened in practice. Only in this way does it cease to be mere aspirational rhetoric and become an integrated part of the organizational culture and routine, transforming common practices (such as umbrella management) into something with a direct impact on the company's efficiency and image as an agent of change.
